Mise en scene

Coursework: Pre-production - Mise-en-scene

Create a Mise-en-scene blogpost planning everything that will appear in front of the camera in your two-minute film trailer.

Remember CLAMPS: Costume, Lighting, Actors (cast, placement and movement), Make-up, Props, Setting.

Costume

My characters will be wearing casual clothes like tracksuit, jeans and hoodies which is the normal way of how teenagers are meant to be scene. This costume can show the audience how young teenagers look like and how they are normally dressed.Additionally this will help me in representing the youth and my target audience watching this aged 16-25.This links with my statement of intent as this

Lighting

How will you light your trailer? Day or night? Interior or exterior? If outside, can you use streetlights, shadows, reflected sunlight or other creative techniques to achieve the lighting style you want? If inside, experiment with creative lighting techniques using windows, blinds, artificial lights, phone flashes and more.

In my coursework i will be using streetlights and low key lighting to show shadows which can also then relate to my genre of crime as most crimes take place at night.Additionally i might also use phone flashes or use a touch in the night to create suspense and mystery in my trailer.

Actors
The first thing you need to plan is your cast - who will be in your production and which characters will they play? Try and cast people who are reasonably similar to the character they are playing (both in age and personality). Next, plan their placement and movement in key scenes in your trailer. Do you want them to appear trapped in a claustrophobic close-up? Or isolated as a tiny person in a wide shot?

Make-up

The make up requirement will be the fake blood use and maybe i will use contact lenses which will be a different colour and will show that there has been an acid attack on one of the character's  eye to link with my genre of crime.

Props

I might be using A fake gun, baseball bat and balaclavas in my trailer which will help me in my establishing my start for my trailer and will also be able to show my genre properly which is of crime and gangster.

Locations

The exact locations of my scenes will be a corner shop in west ealing, estate area in Northolt, central London and hayes car park.
